We have been in love with Isabel Marant  and her timeless jacket and blazer designs since the french designer brought them to the runway last season. They are the perfect pre-spring, and as seen above converted winter piece.

editors notes : Fendi & fur hawks

Milan Fashion Week comes to an end and with that, fendi rtw 2013.  fur fur and fur hawks. this was maybe one of the only looks with limited fur, but the braided hair with the fur hawk was such a strong, hard rocker feel.

10|20 Feature : Zara Linen Coat

Welcome to the 10|20 Feature, where we search for the timeless pieces that will last us a lifetime.

What it is : Zara rustic combination linen coat 

Why are they timeless : The different combination of linen print on this coat makes this a one in a lifetime pick. Linen is usually a fabric dedicated to spring and summer lines, but we find that it is light enough for summer yet layer it with a hoodie and through on an over coat and it will translate right into fall and winter.

Lessons in : the floppy oversized beanie

With winter winding down, yet at times very much still in full force, we never know what March and April will bring. The oversized floppy beanie has been around for a few years plus now. We love the look and that's it's gaining popularity, there are a few ways to wear them, our advise is to get one that is not too stiff the knit has to be loose enough to fall properly. Above is one from All Saints and burberry but we are big fans of the canadian brand nobis they have every shape style and knit you might be looking.

10|20 Obsessions : The Gold Chain Belt

The Queen of contrast Taylor Tomasi Hill constantly on the fashion forward, we are always looking her way for inspiration. At NYFW we found this photo of her and as we love the double collar button up, what always brings Hill's ensemble together are the accessories. Here it's the black gold chain belt, and yes we are obsessed.

MFW : DOLCE & GABBANA

Byzantine inspired bejeweled silhouettes, with a hint of Gustav Klimt. Dolce & Gabbana made a stunning impression at Milan Fashion Week with their embroidered unique twist on some classic shapes.

What it is : Coach Madison Lindsey Satchel 

Why are they timeless : Every now and then each of us run across a bag that as much as we try to ignore (for piece of mind and our wallets) we simply can't. For me it was this, Coach Lindsey Satchel. This bag came in a variety of colors there is one in a classic black, even a patent leather pink. If you have ever had your hands on any vintage coach bags, they are more classic with age and wear, they are more beautiful with the leather broken in. This should be on everyones list.

Editors Notes : Iceberg

Italian based luxe line Iceberg hit Milan Fashion week with some beautiful leather infused knitwear. The draped neckline with the simply edited color palette, gives a little sense of 80's kickback, yet the entire look is completely classic in execution.

NYFW : NICHOLAS K

Nicholas K is one of our favorite layering inspirations. He has a wonderful eye for draped and deconstructed shapes, his aesthetic has somewhat of a European touch. This seasons collection had some very earthy tones of black, beiges, and whites, staples for combination with any ensemble.

One of the Best collections from nyfw we would have to credit Phillip Lim. Above are three of our favorite looks, and all three have there own superior aesthetic. A little bit preppy, minimalist chic,  and the classic elegance. The jacket and boots of the collection were all exceptional and can't wait to see them out and about.

10|20 Obsessions : The chain evolution

The design of jewelry has been evolving and growing everyday. We have seen the everything from delicate small pendents to the ever popular bib necklaces. We are loving that the gold chain has been all over for a few years know from vintage to the evolution that designers are creating above (from top left; Dannijo,Venessa Arizaga, lizzie fortunato , Juliet & Company).

What it is : vince camuto winchel boot, in black 

Why are they timeless : Vince Camuto offers a classic twist to the solid moto boot. With the addition of gold hardwear, Camuto pumps up this classic staple. A lot a bit tough and a little bit feminine the hint of biker is spot on and one of our favorites. 

Timeless style : Mixing plaids

We are seeing a lot of plaid throughout this season shows as well as street style. Working with plaid can be a bit tricky, smaller frames should not choose too loud of a plaid choice. Keeping your choices discrete or a darker tone allows you to mix layers and patterns.

In a season dominated by somber tones Marc Jacobs reminds us why he reigns king.  When viewing the collections there are certain moments that really make a statement (last years proenza schouler collection, and lanvin) this years big moment is, well, pretty obvious. Everything had polished perfection, stunning  beauty, yet all the pieces still maintained that cool quirk that Jacobs is famous for.

What it is : Chloe Marcie Satchel Bag, in jade 

Why are they timeless : Chloe offers a classic elegance, yet the Marcie Satchel comes in a variety of jewel tones not to mention timeless black and a rich brown. The jewel tones of this beauty can easily bring on the warm winds of spring and with a little imagination translate into your best cold weather outfit.  

NYFW : J.Crew

J. Crew rarely disappoints. The mixing of prints, textures / preppy and bold. These pieces all can be easily translated into any personal style; be it boho, rock, gamine, eccentric. That is the beauty of this classic line they all translate, separately or together. Check out the entire 2013 Fall RTW collection, simply lovely.

Editors Notes : Alice + Olivia Fall 2013

Our favorite look from Alice + Olivia Fall 2013 Collection, there was a lot of color with just the right amount of sparkle. Yet we love the black on black boho inspired rock silhouette of these pieces mixed together. You would have been hard pressed to find anyone who couldn't find something for their fall wardrobe.

NYFW : DIESEL BLACK GOLD FALL 2013 RTW

Were seeing more and more black and white for this upcoming  Fall 2013 season.  Diesel's Black and Gold label hits it out of the park again with a Balmain-esc aesthetic, with a beautiful take on moto/menswear. Diesel has yet to disappoint the past seasons and yes, we would like every piece.

What it is : Ray Ban Sunglasses (they don't have a name but the style # is 4147)

Why are they timeless : The tortoise shell  offers a classic elegance, but the 4147's also come in a black and an ombre. From the photo the scale doesn't do them justice but they have a wonderful balance for a large frame, for a mix of elegance and edge.

We have fallen in love with french brothers Laurent and Arik Bitton's timeless jacket and blazer designs. Their background in the music industry lend to their jet-setting, on trend yet timeless designs. They gained experience in fashion while running the family's business, and in 2002 decided to launch their own line. IRO owes its name to the Japanese word for "color," and the Bitton brothers combine rich fabrics with chic-leather attitude.

We all know Italy is our powerhouse for leathers, shoes, sunnies. I ran across the  Super  Cissio which being the perfect place and time just had to snatch them up. After my initial love affaire with my first pair, I found the rest of the Supper Retro Collection. With the fashion characteristics mixed with the technical quality, and a quick vision of my future self long grey hair and my Supers in hand, these glasses are forever.

Marissa Webb : Eponymous Collection

Former VP of women's wear of JCrew, Marissa Webb left to design her rocketing new eponymous collection at New York Fashion Week spring 2013.  Which quickly got snatched up by the likes of Barneys and Steven Alan. There is a menswear fused spark with feminine details in blouses, dresses, and silhouettes, but very modern. Webb spent time studying men's street fashion for inspiration, there's definitely a mix of tomboy in the details.
